Firing squad! Utah, you closet barbarians, you make a man want to kiss you. Not that that's legal in your state.

May. 22nd, 2010

With warmer weather comes ungrateful lifers. Solitary's quick becoming crowded thanks to mounting tensions, and I dare say we may have the stirrings of a riot on our hands.

Alex, my dear. How do you feel about a visit?

May. 10th, 2010

Texas, young friend, you do a man proud.

Would I be remiss in hearing the war wheels turning, Jamie? You can't leave Chris to provide me with all the wolves. Fair's fair.

Apr. 8th, 2010

My war-making friends had best be prepared for Saturday's match. I'll be refereeing.

And Russia has officially all but killed my brother's public face. I think it's safe to say that their government still does its dirty work behind the scenes, but the point remains...

Cruel, Zorkin, very cruel. No doubt you'll come to regret the decision later. That hardly fixes the now.

"It is Justice, not Laws that cures the society."

Families of DC sniper victims celebrate John Allen Muhammad's execution.

Ah me, oh my, there is yet justice left in the world. It's my genuine hope that those families were able to rest easy last night.

Virginia, my dear, I'm so glad that you've not forgotten me. You were the first, after all.

Work well done.

My hand's become quite steady with that iron; I think I'll take up wood burning as a new hobby. Start with some Bible verses, perhaps.

And a hearty hallelujah for that lumber yard! The good Lord does indeed provide, it would seem.

Oct. 28th, 2009

Time to ramp up for this weekend's grand finale.

I'm going to need some wooden poles, good strong rope, a soldering iron and a Bible.

And the boys came through with magnificent timing. So good to see that the pen can operate without me there to helm it full-time.

"Capital punishment kills immediately, whereas lifetime imprisonment does so slowly."

More Strange Turns in Texas' Possible Execution of an Innocent Man.

Hogwash. Now, don't misunderstand -- I'll be the first to admit that men are tried unfairly, wrongly accused, seen through one door and straight out the other. But as always, problems with the men in charge and the legal system falls straight onto my head.

Hogwash. My boys performed their duties admirably and with professionalism. If stones are going to be thrown for a man's wrongful execution, then that responsibility needs to fall on the fools conducting his investigation, not the men flipping the switches. For the days when I had rope, an axe and complete control...

Three more executions were stayed, I'm afraid, but Alabama -- shock of shockers! -- came through, I'm expecting to hear from Georgia tomorrow and next Tuesday, good old Texas better make me proud. It's a damned shame that I can't concentrate on my duties fully, but at least our guests are making acceptable substitutes for the real thing.

"In justice is all virtues found in sum."

Not at all surprising; the Pennsylvania executions were stayed. As were two of the three scheduled in Texas. Two-thirds. This is, I'm afraid, what happens when I leave town for more than a few days at a stretch.

Still, there are bigger fish to fry. This will just have to be an unfortunate consequence of addressing larger issues. Why one does not attack New Gods unprovoked, for example.

While I may not agree with the way this is bound to end since I will be left unsatisfied... well. A point will have been made. An eye for an eye, after all. And progress is coming along quite nicely, if I may say so.

[Notes Of Progress] Session 1

A little ambiance makes all the difference in the world -- the right music, the right lighting. It's quite heartening to be working with you again, Alex, my dear. Quite like old times, indeed.

They're rebellious yet, full of fight. We'll give them another few days to think about their actions before turning the lights back on. In the meantime, I think the death metal for our winged friend and the lullabies for the Horseman are quite inspired.

"The long & distressing controversy over capital punishment is unfair to anyone meditating murder."

Good-bye, Stephen. You were a merciless bastard with no remorse for your crime, but you were man enough to face me in person. I'm so glad that our little chat made you decide to have your attorneys holding back from filing that appeal.

Number nineteen this year, and I'm feeling quite fine. Time to put some of this vim to good use. An eye for an eye, as it were.

"Capital punishment is our society's recognition of the sanctity of human life."

Death row grandmother's plinth spot.

Truly, now. Does attempting to rouse sympathy in one's home country actually seem like anything but a last and desperate resort? Perhaps not committing the crime in the first place would have been a wiser choice, and a woman's life would not have been lost.

Sep. 7th, 2009

"It is justice, not charity, that is wanting in the world."

Pennsylvania stayed two executions last week, and the other two they have upcoming are likely to receive the same treatment. Patently absurd, but unfortunately not surprising. They've been unable to commit to a relationship for decades, the indecisive bleeding hearts.

No point in pinning my hopes on Ohio next week, either; someone taught their governors the meaning of the word "clemency" not too long ago, and since then it seems to be the new governmental pasttime rather than lowering crime rates. A pity. They were so progressive until recently.

Which leaves Texas yet again. Four throughout the latter half of the month, and I've been making the rounds so as to lend a little influence and prevent any further interruptions. These boys have what's coming to them, and I'll be damned before I let another local slip out of my hands.

Why my deft touch became a bone stuck in the liberal craw rather than a public service, I'll never know.

Every killer you kill never kills again.

Ah, Stephen. Less than two weeks now, you and I, and we'll finally enjoy the opportunity to dance a little dance. You'll forgive me if I may be a bit over zealous when the time comes; Florida staved off the headache, but it's over three months now since Texas has taken some kind of action.

Too busy pretending they can be their own country, I should wonder.

September had best be a busy month. Being put off so in August was bad form.
